Golden Day

Typically when he's away I get pretty stressed out, but I've been doing remarkably well so far. Truthfully, I've gotten through the most difficult part (going to work yesterday, volunteering last night, getting both kids ready and packed for daycare today), so I should be fine.

On the way home from dropping Rohan off at daycare, I took a different route home and came across a store that sells stones. You know, the beautiful ones--agates and crystals. Oh! Gorgeous. I bought a few for myself as well as some hematite for a friend. He and I both recently discovered that we're empaths and can use hematite to protect ourselves from the energy and emotions of others that so often overwhelm us.

I've been reading and writing in my "Happy and Grateful" Journal. I started it after I read The Secret. I list things I'm grateful for, classes I've attended, books I've read, things that feed my soul, and lessons I've learned.

One of the lessons I learned yesterday was that your day is as happy as you want it to be. So, in the words of Richard Carlson, "Have a nice day. Unless you have other plans."

I love the idea of a "golden day". :)

Kudos for getting through the stressy stuff in good fashion!
