Feeding My Soul

It is so cold and wet here. We've had rain for three days and this evening it turned into this monstrous sleet that ended up being half an inch deep. Hiren is still in New York; his flight was canceled. Luckily, he has some friends there, so he's hanging out with them all safe and warm. With any luck the weather will improve and he'll be here tomorrow morning.

I am trying very hard to do things that nurture my spirit. I've been getting that advice from more people than I can count--friends, husband, counselor, family, books. I've made a list, in fact, of things that feed my soul and one of them is art. So, I took Rohan to the art museum today. His first trip. Yay!! I'm also going to go to the Royal Ontario Museum when I'm in Toronto next week. See, I'm trying! I'm thinking that if I feed my soul, I won't feed my face as much.

So, what do YOU do to feed your soul?

Being around my friends, live and in person, feeds my soul lately. Working from home I can go days without seeing anyone but my husband. Last week I found myself getting depressed ... it made me realize how much I need people. And I'm an introvert - I'm no social butterfly. But I go a little nuts without seeing people sometimes.

Another thing that feeds my soul, I'm finding, is running outside on pretty days. I hope your weather improves soon. Sunshine is so important.

And music, especially live music, definitely feeds my soul.
